Who are you? (Women's Studies survey)?

I'd like to know a little more about the people who post here, and you probably do too.

1. What is your gender?

2. How old are you?

3. Where do you live?

4. Are you single, dating, married, divorced, etc.?

5. Do you consider yourself a feminist?

6. Do you think gender equality has been achieved in your community?

7. Do you believe one gender is superior to the other, which one, and why?

8. What is your overall impression of the people who post here?

Who are you? (Women's Studies survey)?
1. What is your gender? My sex is female. My gender is...less clear. I'm a butch/androgynous/genderqueer person, but I do indentify as a woman.

2. How old are you? 22

3. Where do you live? Los Angeles

4. Are you single, dating, married, divorced, etc.? Domestically partnered.

5. Do you consider yourself a feminist? Oh hell yeah.

6. Do you think gender equality has been achieved in your community? Oh hell no. (Pass the ERA, then we'll talk.)

7. Do you believe one gender is superior to the other, which one, and why? No (at least not unless I'm drunk or angry)

8. What is your overall impression of the people who post here? There are some intelligent people here, but a preponderance of loser trolls.

5. Yes, I'm a feminist.

6. I think gender equality has long way to go. I was with a coworker the other day when she went to go get her car checked because it was making an odd noise. the making said, "You have quite an ear, most women wouldn't recognize that there was a problem." (otherwise implying the women know nothing about cars)

7. No, I believe both genders are equally important and their differences should be valued because they compliment eachother.

8. I dont know the people who post on here, so its hard to judge.

6. We are getting there but have work to do

7. I think superior is not the right word for what I feel deep down, but as an "equal but different" feminist, I believe that from the start that our female bodies have given us a human definitive advantage that the other sex had to take away in order to define itself..we are equally human but we are not equal in our cosmic place or roles.

8. I think the Women Studies category on YA! can have some really intellectually stimulating debates more so than any other category, and some of the other participants are really frackin smart and well articulated (and this is coming from a misanthrope)

5) Feminism -the doctrine advocating social, political, and all other rights of women equal to those of men.

I satisfy this requirement of feminism. I believe men and women should have equal rights. However, this is inclusive of giving men more rights where they are lacking them.

Many people on this forum consider themselves feminists yet I disagree with many of their viewpoints and feel they do not actually satisfy the deifinition of feminism given above.

Many people consider only improving women's rights and protections sometimes far beyond that afforded to men. This is not the search for equality.

6) No, but once again, I see many of the disadvantages actually applying to males.

7) No. That's a bit of a silly question.

8) Some people can have rather strong opinions. Some people seem to bash feminists (Please note, as said before, I do not neccessarily consider them feminists), some people bash men. Arguements are generally not constructive.

Edit:

Wow, 3 votes down, that was unexpected.

No, Inequality still exists everywhere, although more subtly than before.

Superiority doesn't exist. Females and males have different predilections that are determined by

their hormones

overall, no. one gender may, on average, preform better some things, and the other others, but it evens out

I am sad that so many people are on the fringe- either really man-hating feminists, or women-hating archconservatives. I wish there were more happy mediums.
