Rural but i live right next to a city

i have several pets all of them i bought i bought my oscar fish from walmart and petco and i bought my saltwater fish from petco and i bought my two dogs from a pound i bought my bird from a local family owned petshop i bought my chickens duck goose and rabbits from a local family owned farm supply company and tractor supply but i prefer the family owned farm store

yes and no i think it is if they are going to run around and not be supervised so there is a chance they could get loose and impregnate a stray or a neighbors dog that will impound them but if they are going to be kept on a close wact or if they are show dogs or if they are obtained for the purpose of having puppies or creating a couple more dogs in a responsible way not just some person that is planning to overbreed them and be cruel then i think thats okay

i would take them all with me accept the fish because i dont think they could make the journey without going into shock in wich case i would find them a safe caring home probably with my neighbors and i would give them the tanks and the cleaners and everything else they would need but not because i didnt want the fish anymore because i dont think they would be able to be crated across a state but if it was a close move like four hours or less away i would probably keep them.

when the pets are running out of control on the streets such as if there are like 200 stray dogs in like one square mile or even less but pretty much thats what i think but ive never worked for the ASPCA so i dont think i know to the full extent those are the people that see whats going on and just how bad it is and everything like that.

at least once every six months and if you notice something wrong with them if not more times.

its about a mile away from my house during the summer i walk there or bike there and volunteer.

1. One of my cats was a stray dumped in the laundry room of my apt. building. The other was brought to my nephews junior high by one of the students to give away. My nephew felt bad and brought it home and I adopted it.

2. Yes, extremely important to neuter and spay..an absolute necessity. There are far too many dogs and cats on the planet as it...and millions are put to death each year due to irresponsible pet owners not neutering their pets. Less pets means less death.

3. I would take my pets with me as I always have..I would never give up my pets...I would incorporate them to whatever changes I made in life. Have done this many times in the past.

4. Too many cats and dogs existing on the planet with not enough homes for them.

5. Yearly check up and vaccinations (unless ill inbetween visits)

1. I currently have two pitt bulls, one is more mine and one is more my fiance's. We found them in the news paper, mine (Ursila) had an owner thats dog accidently got pregnant by a neighbor and he was trying to sell the puppies quickly. My fiance [Juan] got his dog [Sancho] from a couple selling their two dogs' puppies- I don't know thier story, I'm thinking they were breeders. I tried the humane society for a long time befor I got Ursila, and actually did find one pit there [mecca], but Juan's little brother took her in.

2. Yes, I do think that it's important that pets are fixed on a regular basis. I think that if you only want one pet, you should odviously get yours fixed becuase you are never sure if you can succesfully sell or give away all the offsprings. And if you don't then they are fully your responsibility. Along with that, Females expecially can get numerous infections and such if they are not spayed. No one likes that.

3. If I moved or ...had a baby, I would always have a back up plan to keep my pets. Animals are the world to me and I couldn't imagine how sad I'd be w/o my best friend! If I was moving, I would get a place were pets can be with enough room. And IF I did have a kid (no time soon) I don't think getting ride of my dogs %26amp; cat would be even a thought.

4. Legally, it depends were you live. Like no more than 4 dogs in places I know of. I also see on TV animal cops, that owners have thier whole house filled with nothing but cats or dogs, any animal. And that REALLY makes me sad. You wanna see overpopulation, see that show! I made a vow that no matter how crazy I get, I will never get so many pets!!!

5. Pets should go to the veterinarian as much as they need to for one. As on if you ever have a suspition or find anything irregular with your pet. But on a regular basis, at the best once a month or maybe two months (dogs). Unless the vet says otherwise.

6. The Rock county Humane society is real close for me!

Hope this helps you : )

1. I got one cat from the pound and the other was a stray that turned up at my house and stayed.

2. It si important that dogs and cats are sprayed or neutered because there are so many dogs and cats being put down in pounds every day. this problem will just keep on increasing unless animals are desexed. The problem, over time, will lessen if we do get our pets desexed.

3. I would always keep my pets no matter what. If i had to move I would take my pets with me. i don't rent so i don't have the problem of the no pets rule but if i did i would look for a place where i could take my pets. When I do have kids i would still keep my two cats.

4. Pet overpopulation is when there are many pets without homes which then get put down.

5. pets should go to the vet once a year and whenever they have a problem or are sick.

6. My area shelter is 5 minutes away, the pound is 7 minutes away.

1. I got my 2 turtles from a friend, 1 cat from the shelter, 1 cat found us, my gerbil from a friend, and my fish from an aquarium store. If I wanted to get more I'd go to the same sorces where I got my current pets.

2. Yes, because of over-population. Too many animals, not enough homes.

3. Keep them.

4. See number 2

5. Once every few months... At least, If not more.

1) I currently have a bunch of pets, 2 dogs both adopted from shelters, 2 cats- one given to me, the other adopted. 2 Ferrets- adopted from a shelter. 2 hedgehogs- one given to me, one I bought from a breeder. Mali Uromastyx lizard- given to me by a friend who couldn't take care of her anymore. A ball python I bought from a store. A hamster the owner was going into the hospital for over a month and had no one that would take it. 6 lovebirds- I bought 2 from a breeder, the others are babies they have had that I am selling. A Quaker parrot I bought from a breeder. 2 White's Tree frogs I bought. And lastly some fish.

2) I believe its greatly important to have your pets spayed or neutered! I worked at a shelter, I dealt with the excuses for dropping off everything, I also had to euthanize many animals that were wonderful and had to die because someone didn't want to pay the money, or had heard myths about spaying and neutering a dog. Also the dogs and cats and other animals that came in so sick, starved, injured, etc that were just barely alive. There is no reason to add to the pet population.

3) All my pets would move with me (I looked for a very long time for a place that would allow 2 large dogs, leaving them behind or taking them back to a shelter was never an option) and if pregnancy becomes an issue the animals are all staying, you can get them ready for the change by simply doing a little conditioning.

4) Pet overpopulation is the ingoing problem faced all over the world. People don't want to take the time and money to properly care for an animal and when something happens that they need to spend time and/or money on, they dump the animal instead of taking responsibility for a living being.

5) Pets should go to the vet for at the very least their yearly checkups and vaccinations. Also any time the animal is sick or injured.

6) There are a few in the area, the biggest is across town for me (about a 30 min drive). There are smaller places and lots of individual rescues and fostering programs in the area as well.
