9. No, because there are more than enough jobs for every resident or inhabitant of the US. i just think that many people are overacting and use their laziness as a way to blame people who actually want to earn a decent living for themselves and their families for their "lack" in finances.

If you are born in the united states you have the oppurtunity to go to school for free until the 12th grade and its up to you to earn a living and use your education in a way that will benefit you.

Can you buy a drug sniffing dog?

I might want to buy a drug snifing dog to rid my local community of marijuana. I was just wondering if that is legal. I have seen what marijuana dependency does to my former friends and generally my peers. I think that a higher percentage of individuals have tried marijuana than nationwide surveys show. Because of this i want get rid of the drug.

Can you buy a drug sniffing dog?
You sure can, any dog can be a drug sniffing dog. they just have to be trained. Get it addicted to weed and it will search the neighborhood high and low to get it.
Reply:You must be a cop to attend the classes that a dog must go through to be certified. Also, what do you think your going to do, search every citizen you come across. If you tried messing with me I would **** you and your dog up. Report Abuse

Reply:Believe me, you'll never get rid of marijuana. The cops can't, what makes you think you can?

BUT, if you feel so inclined to try, be my guest. But you can only search people's houses or cars if you have a search warrant, which I doubt a civilian could get. And I highly doubt you are able to arrest anyone.

So yeah, all you need to do is train a dog to locate drugs. I hear it takes a while.
Reply:you are either too young or to stupid to understand the vast majority of weed that is in America nobody will ever take away all the weed theres to much money in it. lol
Reply:please be for real, you will never stop this problem of this world we life in, the weed grows all over and is everywhere no matter what you do is going to keep on, the police can't stop it and neither can you
Reply:Ridding the world of marijuana wouldn't necessarily be a good thing. I do know that it causes problems but there are also people who need it for cancer treatment. I don't know what state that you live in but there are some states that have legalized medical marijuana. It has qualities that no other drug does and these people desperately need it. You want your dog to go ripping into some poor person's house, have you yell at them for something that really isn't any of your business, even though your heart is in the right place? Please, leave this to the pros. You will just get yourself or some innocent person hurt...
Reply:My best friend's dad is a K-9 unit cop. His German Shepard costs about $25,000. Not sure if it's legal or not... but it's one expensive dog!

How do i get rid of this computer virus?

8. Immigrants do not take jobs away from US Citizens. There is no negative relationship that has been found on this subject. I know this because I just did an assignment on the misconception of immigrants hurting jobs.

***UPDATE*****

To the two other people who filled out this survey...you are very very wrong about immigrants negativly impacting employment. There has been studies done on this for the past 60 years, and there has ALWAYS been no negative relationship found on the relationship between unemployment and immigration. I just did a huge assignment about this, and read over 30 research articles on this, looking at both sides. And all of the came to the conclusion that immigration does not negativly effect ANY aspects of the job market....It does not take jobs away from native born Americans!!!

LEGAL YES, ILLEGAL NO. They receive medical and other perks that are taken from the middle class to help them just belong, not get ahead. This is not right, just or fair to them or the Middle class. Too much $ spent on illegals and not enough on legals. We can not take care of others until we take care of ourselves...If we want respect, we must earn it, not give it away trying to solve other countries problems while selling ours out. If I may I would like to expand on some of your questions and my answers.

1. Learning how to operate a computer is certainly with in the capabilities of most people including seniors. I am a bit of an anomaly in that I began servicing and maintain computers when they still weighed 275 tons and had 55,000 vacuum tubes in them. We troubleshot and repaired to the component level. The level of maintenance we performed would require an electron microscope and a robot to accomplish in today's world. Not to mention it would be ridiculously expensive.

2. Learning to use Email, like learning to use a computer is within the grasp of most seniors. Its main advantages, as I see it, are cost and immediacy. Once established your email account doesn't cost anything per use to use. It is also much faster than snail mail. In addition if the person you are trying to reach is on line one can enter into an exchange that is as close to real time as most people would ever need.

3. I don't have a cell phone. I can honestly say I have never had a conversation over a cell phone and I only carried one once and that was to take it to my wife who had forgotten it. I just don't see the need for every 12 year old to have a blue tooth device hanging on their head. The universal acceptance has brought costs down and that's a good thing for those who really do need them it's just that I am no were near important enough to have one. I have wireless phones at home. They amount to about a 150 foot leash; I don't want one any longer than that. I think like anything else they are becoming too complex. Any device that tries to be ALL things for ALL people becomes increasingly complex as both of those "ALLs" become larger.

4. Text messaging is something I consider a foolish toy. With all the bells and whistle already on a cell phone why is this necessary? Can't you talk direct? OK so you can't, leave a voice mail. I guess if a person was a sniper and required absolute silence it might be nice or if one had been kidnapped and was texting behind their back it could be of value but beyond that, I can't see any sense in it. And, what self respecting kidnapper would leave the victim with their cell phone.

5. Internet access is certainly desirable. I can't say it is an absolute need but it has become the way to contact the outside world. For good or bad it is becoming increasingly necessary to be on line.

6. The latest and greatest technology is nice but being on the cutting edge is expensive. If you are satisfied with the last generation there is no need to buy more than that. Example: I replaced my system with a Duo Core in December. I knew of the Quad Core but I chose to save the money. The next system will probably come about time we see an Octo Core and I will be looking at the Quad. It could be as long as it takes to get the Hexidec Core but I will still be looking a generation backward.

7. The one thing I am sure of is that entertainment (spell that GAMES) drives the technology. The ever increasing demand for better and better graphics does more than any bank or other corporation's demand for more number crunching. The only possible exception is the CAD field but even then I thing the gamesters are leading the pack.

8. Technology is a tool; nothing more and nothing less. I can use a shovel to dig a moat around a castle for protection or I can use it as a club to kill my neighbor. The user determines the use and that will always be true.

9. Advancing technology is a black-hole. No man knows what is in that hole. It will only be revealed when man ventures in and takes a look. It could be a cure for cancer, a vortex to other universes, light speed and beyond. There is simply no way to know; we have to enter that hole, it is the nature of man.

10. In my opinion technology is making things (information and data) more readily available to those who need it. Technology is a micro-managers dream. In a company of 10,000 every key stroke on every computer can be observed. Your question is about "easier", my concern is about privacy.

I was wondering if anyone is good at unit conversions?

A recent survey found that 28% of the people who visit public pools urinate once while in the pool. The American average for the total urination is 1.8n liters per day, the event happens 3.6 times per day. The average urea concentration in urine is 7.5 mg/ml. let's say a community has a urine-free pool on the first day of the summer. The pool measures 25 meters long by 12 meters wide and has an average depth of 6 feet. at the end of the first day, a chemical analysis shows the urine concentration in the pool is 2 mg/L. Given this information how many people visited the pool on the first day?

I was wondering if anyone is good at unit conversions?
lets see.... urinate once in the pool... that is 1.8 liters divided by 3.6 times, or .5 liters each time. that is 500 ml... with 7.5mg urea per ml, that gives a total of 3750mg urea per urination... now the volume of the pool is 25m by 12m by 1.83m or a volume of 548,64 cubic meters. each cubic meter s 1000 liters, so we have 548640 liters in the pool. 2mg/l gives a total urea amount of 1097280 mg. divide this by the 3750 mg urea per urination and you get 292.6 urinations. Since only 28% of the visitors urinate, that makes the total number of visitors 1045

Have to conduct a survey with these questions for school? DUE SOON!!!!!!!?

II have to conduct a survey with these questions for school. I need answers from three adults and three people under eighteen. I know it's long but I would really appreciate the help!

What are the qualities of a good friend? What do you want and need from a friend? What are you willing to give a friend? Write at least five qualities.

What are the qualities of a good neighbor? How is being a good friend related to being a good neighbor? Is there a relationship between the two? Explain your answer.

ow does being a good neighbor relate to being a good citizen? Is it possible to obey all the laws but still not be a responsible citizen? Is it possible to break the law but still be a good citizen? Don’t just answer “yes” or “no.” Explain your answers.

What are the qualities of a good citizen? In your response, consider how good citizenship is expressed in all eight of these areas: family, laws, religion, education, environment, local community, humankind and government.

Have to conduct a survey with these questions for school? DUE SOON!!!!!!!?
This is going to take me a long time, but I have a few spare minutes =D

Okay . . . I can be one of the 3 people you need that are under 18.

What are the qualities of a good friend?

To be there for you

Willing to help in your hour of need

Stick together through and through

Friendly

Polite

Not too bitchy

Can keep her mouth closed ( When told a secret )

What do you want and need from a friend?

All of the above ^^ and for them to appretiate you, and not try and change you ( Clothing, Hair, Image, Opinions, Reasons etc. )

What are you willing to give a friend?

All the things that I want from them.

To help them out if they have problems

( Bullying, Problems at home, Relationship issues etc. )

What are the qualities of a good neighbor?

To look out for the house when I go on holiday

Friendly

Polite

Respects your property or garden

( Not throwing footballs across, damaging plant pots, climbing over the fences etc. )

How is being a good friend related to being a good neighbor?

You can be a good friend to the neighbor, get to know them better, invite them round for a drink / meal.

Also all the qualities you want from a friend, you will want from a neighbour. Eg, Friendliness, Polite etc.

Is there a relationship between the two?

I believe their is a relationship between being a good friend and being a good neighbour, as you can improve on both friendships and relationships, however there can be disadvantages to, like you can fall out with a friend and a neighbor pretty easily, sometimes over a small misunderstanding.

How does being a good neighbor relate to being a good citizen?

Well, being a good citizen in my mind is :

- Helping out the community.

- Being a friendly face

- Being approachable

- Looking out for other people in the community, both young, teens and elderly people.

I think that a neighbour can also have all these qualities that a good citizen and perhaps more - Watching out for the house whilst you are away, reporting any suspicious sightings in the garden - attempted burgulary perhaps.

Is it possible to obey all the laws but still not be a responsible citizen?

Yes it is - A responsible citizen is all of the above I stated ^

( In my opinion of course. )

For example -

A person may never commit a sin in their life, or commit a crime, they may be angelic. However they may also be a sour-faced person, by this I mean, They stay out of trouble but at the same time aren't bothered about anyone else - Except keeping themselfs save and making sure they aren't getting into any trouble and to them it may not mean a thing if someone is being attacked in the street, outside their house - They may turn a blind eye on it - So they don't get into trouble for reporting it. Which in my mind, isn't a good citizen - As they aren't watching out for people in their local community.

What are the qualities of a good citizen?

A good citizen should always try and :

Attend local council elections.

Take a responsible role of helping the community - More litter bins, more football areas, places for teenagers to go so they aren't bored.

A good citizen could also help out at a local school night class, or college class, if they have any skills that would help other students/people, that would make them a good citizen as they are helping people as much as they can.

Trying to keep the local streets clean - Maybe No dropping litter signs, Clean up your dog signs etc.

Possibly trying to get CCTV in the area, if it is a fairly bad area, where a lot of attacks / robberies etc take place.

Getting the whole community ( or trying to ) to take part in different religions - This may also help to calm racism problems in a community - By getting a varied ammount of different religions and beliefs, so they can all understand each others beliefs and religions and why they follow that certain religion. It could also be interesting for both the organiser and the people who attend.

I hope that helped you - it will be my longest ever answer on answers !! Good Luck anyway =D
Reply:Qualities of a good friend are honesty, loyalty, and earnestness.

I want humor, trust, and a positive relationship from a friend.

I am willing to give a friend whatever they are willing to accept, with some limitations.

A good neighbor looks out for you, they are honest, watchful, kind, and sharing.

A friend is a neighbor with a more intimate realationship.

Yes, therre is a relationship, as stated above.

A good neighbor is not necesarily a good citizen. A responsible citizen not only obeys the law, but they also participate in their civic duties to the fullest. They vote, they share their beliefs, and they press for what is right. A neighbor doesn;t necesarily take time to justify that, its more of a label than a promise.

A good citizen pursues their civic duties to the fullest. They participate in democratic practices at local, state, and national levels. They look out for humanity in aspects both physical, spirtiual, and metaphysical. They look for the good of the people around them, while keeping themselves in consideration.

I am under eighteen.
Reply:You could probably conduct your surveys in the area for "Polls and Surveys" with better results.

You may need to break it down into multiple questions and ask for precisely the information you're after in each (i.e. age) one.

You'll get the information much quicker.
Reply:I’m 5 and a half months into my majority, so I suppose that makes me an adult.

What are the qualities of a good friend? What do you want and need from a friend? What are you willing to give a friend? Write at least five qualities.

A good friend is loyal, understanding, like me enough that we can relate, and different enough to entertain, familiar enough with my sense of humor to laugh at my jokes. I like my friends to be unpredictable to me, but often find that they aren’t. I need to be able to respect my friends, and I want them to respect me. I also want them to understand me, which is rare. What am I willing to give… I don’t think we can know that until we are called upon to give it. Material things, if there were a need. A listening ear. It’s hard to say.

What are the qualities of a good neighbor? How is being a good friend related to being a good neighbor? Is there a relationship between the two? Explain your answer.

A neighbor minds his own darned business. A neighbor is courteous, above all else. Willing to help if there is a need, but not wont to force help on you. Friendly at chance meeting in the driveway or garden, willing to talk about inconsequential things. Usually the weather. A neighbor is very little like a friend unless you happen to be friends with your neighbor. I’m rarely courteous to my friends; it’s just not how we communicate. Friendship is moving beyond courtesy.

How does being a good neighbor relate to being a good citizen? Is it possible to obey all the laws but still not be a responsible citizen? Is it possible to break the law but still be a good citizen? Don’t just answer “yes” or “no.” Explain your answers.

Just that: courtesy. Following the law is, mostly, being a courteous neighbor to the whole nation. As such, along with common courtesy, it isn’t as common as it should be. The idea of being a “responsible citizen” encompasses following the laws, and if one followed all of the laws and did nothing more, I would still call him/her a responsible citizen. But there is more to it than that. I’d say that someone who goes out of their way to see that the law is followed, as long as the keep within the unspoken laws of courtesy, is an EVEN MORE responsible citizen. That does not discount the first person, though. Not everyone can report drunk drivers and rescue kittens. It is possible to break the law and still be a good citizen, because like the idea of “responsible citizens,” this idea can encompass somewhat more than merely the law. Leaving aside civil disobedience as a form of political participation, if someone breaks the speed limit (a law) in order to, say, get a family member to the hospital, they would still be considered a good, “upstanding” citizen despite their disregard for the law. There are other examples, but none that I can call to mind at the moment.

What are the qualities of a good citizen? In your response, consider how good citizenship is expressed in all eight of these areas: family, laws, religion, education, environment, local community, humankind and government.

To tackle them separately:

Family: Citizenship has little to do with family. I think the source of that bit of question stems from confusing patriotism with Christianity, thereby making a “good citizen” equivalent to a “good person.” I could be a bad person and a good citizen, if my motivation for being the latter was that following the laws and helping others is a way of helping myself. Don’t break family-related laws, respect your family. Law: Follow the laws and don’t break them, unless it is necessary to protect yourself or others from immediate harm or danger. Religion: religion has NOTHING to do with good citizenship. ETHICS do, and ethics exist independently from religion. I know some bad atheists, but I know a good number of worse Christians. It has to do with individual ethics, not religion. That said, adhering to a strong ethical code, above and beyond the law, but in accordance with it, is the mark of a good citizen. Education: assuming traditional ethics, if you can do good to others by furthering your education, then it is a mark of a good citizen. Being educated about citizenship and the makings of a good citizen is another way of being one. Likewise, furthering the education of others can be good. Environment: Don’t go out of your way to harm the environment. Don’t litter. In theory, recycling is good, walking is good, riding a bike rather than taking a car is good. But, realistically and pragmatically, one person does NOT make a difference, no matter what they tell you. You can drive your SUV everywhere and still be a good citizen. Local community: Vote. The more local it is, the more your vote and your opinion matter. Volunteer, if you think you can help in some specific way. Mainly, never harm the community. Again, there are levels of being a good citizen; even if you never raise a hand to actively help the community, as long as you aren’t harming it, you can be a good citizen. Humankind: respect humankind. Be able to acknowledge and rejoice in its achievements, and count them as your own. We are all human. But altruism is not the only way of helping humankind in our society; we are a capitalist nation. Respect other’s humanity as well, their customs, their opinions, their freedoms. Do not confuse dissent for disloyalty. Government: know the government. A good citizen knows that he’s being a good citizen. And vote, because that’s what we’ve always been told to do.

And that about covers it. Hope this helps.

And especcially Southern Baptist who not only attack, but have made Lying Hollywood movies negatively and incorrectly. They make them look real, but one can tell they are actors. They are in the temple and everyone has a glum look. When I go to the temple I see a lot of people smiling never that glum look. I knew about them before.

I am so happy that our church has never put any other churches down, and have made thousands of films, but none that put other churches down. It is how Christ's Church is suppose to be.

Survey about Nuclear Energy in Asian countries.?

In a survey I need to conduct for my Nuclear Engineering class, I explore the expanding potential influence of Asian countries on the nuclear community.

It would be greatly appreciated if you would answer these questions.

Do you support the creation of more nuclear power plants in:

1. United States

2. Japan

3. China

4. India

5. South Korea

If not, why?

6. Do you believe Asian nuclear development will impact United States nuclear policy? If yes, will this impact be beneficial to the United States?

7. If Asian countries continue to implement new nuclear programs, do you believe the United States will follow?

Thanks again for all your help.

Survey about Nuclear Energy in Asian countries.?
1. Yes

2. to 5. Doesn't matter what I think they are building and will build nuclear plants.

6. Only thing impacting US nuclear policy is the US itself. It will impact our economy and industrial might. If the US doesn't secure it's electrical power supply, then we won't be able to keep up with others industrially.

7. The US has to follow to keep up. If we don't which is a good chance, then were in trouble. Need to realize that Russia and many Europeans countries are expanding their nuclear power production as well. South Africa has been working new reactor designs to give electricity to remote parts of Africa. Even Austraila is considering nuclear.
Reply:Strongly believe new nuclear development cold fusion should occur in all countries listed.

6 believe Japan and Iran will have the bomb someday, and we will need to wonder as they did during cold war if they will be used. It will not benefit USA if milk toast politicians controlled by one special interest group win in the Fall. Anything that takes pressure off fossil fuel will benefit everyone if managed correctly. Was around when first commercial electric plants were being build in USA they all had the ability for complete shut down.

2. yes

3. yes

4. yes

5. yes

6. Yes, it will impact the US. I think it will mostly be beneficial because it will force competition, resulting in higher technology.

7. Yes, USA will follow. I doubt that they will just watch.

Survey: Is the question "Do you have a smoke alarm in you house?" a legitimate survey question?

I think it is. But apparently trolls don't. Because this question was reported by the "Yahoo!Answers community" - WITH NO RESON given why it was a violation.

Conclusion ? I'm definitely being targetted by trolls purely out of spite.

What do you think? Was it a valid survey question?

Survey: Is the question "Do you have a smoke alarm in you house?" a legitimate survey question?
Yes this IS a valid Question

Yes I do have a Smoke Alarm , it is now COMPULSORY in the State of New South Wales, Australia (where I live,Sydney is the State Capital by the way )

Because

Two years ago 5 little girls who were having a "Sleep-over" were burnt to death (or suffered smoke inhalation, I think two of thr girls died and the other three recovered, or vice versa)

because the house they were in didn't have a Smoke Alarm.

So the NSW state Government have now passed legislationto make it compulsory that every house has a Smoke Alarm

This IS a valid question , you don't half get some trolls on Yahoo ,

(I'll bet THIS answer now gets withdrawn by those self same Trolls)
Reply:THANKS for choosing MY ANSWER as the BEST ONE ,

It was a VERY Valid Question , I can't think why ANYone with even half a brain would think otherwise

Reply:Honestly, I don't think it's a valid polling question. I wouldn't report it as a violation personally, because it's "almost valid". But, no, it's not a valid question.

Valid survey questions are actual searches for information and opinions. For example, "what do you think Obama should do to respond to Hillary's claim that ... ". This seeks out opinions and argument that helps the questioner to form his own answer to the question.

But a question that only gets a yes/no answer it basically just trolling for funny or interesting replies. A bunch of one-word "yes" or "no" answers doesn't really contribute anything meaningful.

I don't see the point of asking that question, other than trying to collect witty replies. That's not a permitted use.

Sorry, but that's how I see it.
Reply:it's a good question. screw the trolls. I'll answer. YES i have a smoke alarm. here's a story. my landlord didn't give us smoke alarms. so we called the fire department and they sued her. serves her right. and it's an apartment building.
Reply:No and I ask where do you think Jimmy Hoffa Is and they Violation,I didn't think there was anything wrong with that. Then I ask do you think the questions are boring today and got a violation for that. Go figure
Reply:Yes @ it could have been a valuable wake up call to those that dont. Shouldn't take it to heart, one of mine was removed,I'm still trying to figure out who i could have offended.
Reply:Yes it is a legitimate question, but for trolls every question is a violation.

And no,I don't have one althought I should...:P
Reply:I think it is a lame survey, as almost every house some type of smoke alarm in it ( working or not ), as ours does-goes off every time I cook breakfast, lol
Reply:yes! and yea i do have one

please answer mine:

I have one ........ also a carbon monoxide detector
Reply:Sure it is. and by the way, I do have a couple in my house.
Reply:It was a valid question. Who knows how many idiots don't have a smoke alarm? OH NO MAYBE THEY THOUGHT YOU'D TARGET THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T TO SET THEIR HOUSES ALIGHT!?
Reply:sounds like a legitimate survey to me.
Reply:i do have one but i smashed it cuz the noise made me angry and i think u are being targetted and wilsoon is about to float away !!!! ahhhhhhhhhh
