The Pornography Debate [Survey]?

[Survey]

Pornography is an issue in the United States.

On the one side - The public informs us that pornography creates perverts in this world, and the Bible has a strong stand against pornographic material. Pornography ruins the young teens of America.

On the other side - People argue that young teens view pornography because of curiosity, and that this action is 100% safe and natural.

The Pornography Debate [Survey]?
Perverts and pedophiles were present way before the dawn of pornography. Porn doesn't cause you to be a pervert, you either are or you aren't. I view porn and I treat women with respect in decency, in the bedroom and beyond.

Besides, nowadays it is safer to stay home and watch porn than it is to go out and "get some". You have a good chance of getting something you didn't want!
Reply:I don't believe in the bible(true atheist) but I think it depends on what kind of picture it is .I realize young boys and girls are crurious and I do think it's natural to look but as far as safe if the picture is degrading a woman insome way for instance bondage I think it may affect how they(boys) think how a woman should be treated unless thats what you get into as a adult I'm not a counseler in any way but I do believe (because I'm a mother) that with boys an d maybe girls to that it's something to try to keep informed about and watch your kids closely I've heard that most perverts murders serial killers start by killing animals.
Reply:I don't agree with either statement. Pervs are pervs regardless of what they read, watch etc. The material just nurtures their behavior and I'm sure in some cases porn is actually enough to satisfy their hunger for whatever it is they get from it. As for teens viewing for curiosity I think it gives them an incredibly skewed, unrealistic version of what to expect which in turn contributes to low self esteem in young women.
Reply:Hmmmm. Interesting question.

I have two teenage boys. I find things they would rather I did not see. I can deal with most of what I find and quietly put it back where I found it and say nothing but... there is a limit.

I think it is when an image is obscene. By that I mean something that is meant to be titillating but involves abuse of somekind. A child, pain, violence, degradation, bestiality.

The sexual act has always been depicted. There are cave drawings, carvings, even paintings that are now considered works of art. In their day they were thought to be pornographic. That is acceptable I think and would be impossible to stop but an image showing abuse, sexual or otherwise is just wrong.

Some don 't believe in the Religious views on Christianity

so thats not such a good reason why Porn is bad.

Personally, as a teen I do watch porn

I believe everyone at one point of their life

were curious to see porn.

I don't see nothing wrong with it.

Perverts ? HAHA
Reply:In my opinion, pornography which does not involve children/animals/abuse is like alcohol and cigarettes. It's OK for adults in small amounts, but it can become addicting. Pornography which does involve children/animals/abuse is, of course, absolutely wrong.
Reply:porn isn't going to make someone a pervert- they make themselves that way

i don't have any negative feelings toward porn, i kind of wonder about some of the fetish stuff and how its sexy at all... and things like pooping and peeing on someone, i will always wonder why that is in anyway sexual
Reply:I think it leads to Sex offenders. Someone starts to look at it out of curiosity, then keeps looking. Then gets more curious, and wants to try it out. ..... the list goes on. It's an addicting habit that causes problems and breaks up marriages and familes.
Reply:I hate it. And anyone who participates in porn movies and pictures have serious problems about their own self worth. No decent person would ever want to show their privates to the public, much less let the public see them in sex acts. Sick stuff.
Reply:I think it's wrong.
