5. All though people develop prejudices over time - issues of racism, anti-Semitism, and or bias should be held as socially unacceptable. However, their will always be here in some form. It is part of the human condition. That does not mean its excusable.

2. Strong Agree

3. Community

4. Adults

5. Prejudice will never go away, will never be eradicated. People are too different to allow a blind eye to otheres.
Reply:1. I think schools are some of the places with the BIGGEST prejudices; students have prejudices based on societal class, intelligence and looks. Teachers sometimes have these prejudices based primarily on who is the "smartest/hardworking" and/or who their family of origin is. Administrators often are prejudicial towards athletes or the Judge's kid.

2. I think EVERYONE has some prejudice. I try not to and I try and work through my own personal prejudices. Often, interaction with students who have different life experiences helps me do this. For example, I am a high school German teacher who is definitely a far Left Liberal. I have a student this year whose father is an evangelical preacher. The kid has helped me work through a lot of my views just by who he is and I appreciate him for that.

3. Schools are a microcosm of society at large. Kids learn prejudice from their community, they simply intensify it at their school environment.

4. We ALL have prejudices; it is hard to gauge who is MORE prejudiced. I think that's kind of a lost cause to try and answer that. I DO think kids are more malleable in that they tend to "ape" adults who have strong influences on them, and that by the time kids reach MY age, it's harder to fight against any prejudice you have--but I wouldn't necessarily say tht one is mroe than another.

5)I don't think you will EVER reduce the amount of prejudice in the world. I think that people's perceptions of what is "ok" to be prejudiced against is ever changing. For instance, it is CERTAINLY not "ok" to say the "n" word in public anymore (whereas that was ok 100 years ago). However, many of my students regularly make comments like" Oh that's GAY" or "That's RETARDED," which are just as horrible because they do denigrate another population. The majority of society however does not see it the way *I* do, which is why kids still say it.
Reply:1. Overall do you think that your school area/community is prejudice? Yes

2. Do you think YOU are prejudice? Agree

WHY?

3. Which is more prejudice? School

4. Who is more prejudice? Adults

5. What are your overall feeling about this topic and what do you think should be done to help reduce the amount of prejudice in our world? i think everyone is prejudice to a certain extent and it can be towards anything, race, class (level of income) etc.

2) Disagree, although there are times when I make a conscious effort to avoid certain people. Large groups of ethnic people make me nervous, because I think that they have certain expectations of me. In turn, I have developed a certain expectation of them.

3) I think schools are just one example of a community. Segregation in schools is voluntary. Groups tend to congregate based on similar ideas or expectations. In communities, there are more forces at work, like economics, religion, and other social factors. Jewish people tend to live near their synogoue or temple. Immigrants tend to live near immigrants from their own country, because they have similar languages, cultures, and experiences. These segregations tend to hapen because of circumstance, to make life easier for them.

4) Adults tend to be more prejudiced. Once certain ideas are ingrained, it is hard to unlearn them. Children still have the ability to adapt, and to change the way they think. It is not impossible for adults to do this, it is just more difficult for them because they have just made prejudice part of their lives.

5) Understanding other people and appreciating their differences is key. One of the problems is the competetive nature of humans. Striving to prove their dominance over others, instead of working with others to make a better life for each. Acceptance is another factor. If we just accept that people have different beliefs, ideas, experiences, and we askethem to share them with us, not only can we expand our knowledge, but we will make new friends.

Reply:1. Overall do you think that your school area/community is prejudice? Yes

2. Do you think YOU are prejudice? agree, i dont do it on purpose but sometimes its hard to not judge people on the way they look.

3. Which is more prejudice? School

4. Who is more prejudice? Teens/children

5. What are your overall feeling about this topic and what do you think should be done to help reduce the amount of prejudice in our world? i think being prejudice is inevitable.. most people only like people that are like them and theres no way to stop it. i know i shouldnt be prejudice but i try to look past that and i know im not the only one like this.. and i also know many people are prejudice against me so it all evens out!
Reply:This is a subjective question. Best to start defining what prejudice is. Your survey will be flawed if u don't identify

who exactly u asked. Which in itself is Prejudice.

1-4 I won't answer not being from the area

5. Religion, world peace and leaders from nations of the ages have tried my friend. Reduce means education. Some resist.

Good luck. Best part is u research and continue to explore.
