I purchased one of my dogs from a local pet store, the other one I found walking around my mom's neighborhood all dirty and cold and kept him.

2.Do you think it is important that dogs and cats are spayed or neutered? Why or why not?

Yes, to control the population and prevent strays.

3.If there was a big change in your life such as moving or having a baby, what would you do with your pet(s)?

Make it work. If i absolutely could not keep my pets I would give them to my mother-in-law who would love them and keep them forever.

4.What is pet overpopulation?

There are not enough homes for all the pets out there. Lots of animals are euthanized every day because shelters are too full. Instead of adopting the animals already available who need homes people would rather pay a breeder or pet store for the exact dog or cat they want.

5.How often should pets go to a veterinarian?

probably every 6 months for a dog because of their heart worm prevention. I would say every year at the least just like people.

6.Where is your area shelter or humane society?

The closest one is in Jonesboro, AR ( about 35 min from me)

Thank you for your time!

Please answer the following questions honestly and completely.

1.If you currently have a pet how did you obtain it? If you currently do not have a pet or you wanted get another one, where would you go to get one?

I obtained my dog from a friend whose dog had puppies.

2.Do you think it is important that dogs and cats are spayed or neutered? Why or why not?

I do think it is important to spay or neuter your animals because there are so many unwanted animal pregnancies that happen by accident. This is why I obtained my dog from someone who had been foolish and had not spayed their pet. Newborn animals are sometimes killed or shoved into overflowing animal shelters all because of this issue.

3.If there was a big change in your life such as moving or having a baby, what would you do with your pet(s)?

I would keep or take my dog along with me. My dog is the best and I would never send her anywhere other than my side.

4.What is pet overpopulation?

When unwanted animal pregnancies happen and people shove the newborns into an animal shelter as soon as they can. At least that was how I percieved it.

5.How often should pets go to a veterinarian?

I take my dog every six months for a check up, and immeadiately if I think anything could be wrong.

6.Where is your area shelter or humane society?

It is located in a quiet area on the borders of my town.

Please answer the following questions honestly and completely.

1.If you currently have a pet how did you obtain it? If you currently do not have a pet or you wanted get another one, where would you go to get one?

2 x dogs - From work, worked as animal tech in pet store

1 x cat - MIL was allergic to it, I took it

1 x cat - woman abandoned him at my work when he was 2 years old

1 x bearded dragon - bought her at reptile%26amp;aquarium speciality store

5 x leopard gecko - kijiji for free

6 x aquariums - livestock from aquarium speciality stores, other hobbyists and aquarium society auctions

2.Do you think it is important that dogs and cats are spayed or neutered? Why or why not?

Unless you are a registered breeder, I think you should have to have this done by law. I worked in a pet store and had a hell of a time keeping "milled" animals out of the shop and finding homes for abandoned ones. I've seen to many animals die because of idiotic people and frequently was the one to be with puppies and kittens at the vet when we put them down because some moron "dropped them off" by leaving a box outside the door when they were beyond help....

3.If there was a big change in your life such as moving or having a baby, what would you do with your pet(s)? In the past 9 months I have moved 3000 kms and had a baby, I still have all my animals. The only thing that I did not move with were my salt water fish and my breeding bettas as I could not ensure their survival in the move.

4.What is pet overpopulation?

Pet overpopulation is the abundance of animals with no homes that have to be fostered or destroyed each year.

5.How often should pets go to a veterinarian?

With no troubles, yearly. Beyond that as needed. Though it does depend on the kind of animal. Most herps don't need to be seen at all, unless there is an issue. Many birds need only be seen in the first year or two.

6.Where is your area shelter or humane society? Ogden Road.
